Why did chess become much more popular when it turned out that computers are better at it than humans. What are your ideas about this? I think I know, but let's hear others first!

So here is our speculation:

Fredrik Qwarfort: Henrik Hedda Wallin I think you are on the right track. You used to be able to compete with computers, but today it's hopeless. Computers are totally superior. Therefore, it's not even fun to play against a computer but much more fun to play against people! Either in real life or online. Chess is also great to play online (although I rarely do it).

Then several factors came together. The Queen's Gambit series increased interest enormously, and with the Corona, online play took off. Then people wanted to meet up in real life and build up social networks, which completely collapsed with the corona. Now we have more players at the club than ever!

Schack är dessutom utmärkt att spela online (även om jag sällan gör det).

Sen blev det flera faktorer som samverkade. Serien Queens gambit ökade intresset enormt, och med coronan tog onlinespelandet fart. Sen ville folk träffas på riktigt och bygga upp sociala nätverk som havererade totalt med coronan. Nu har vi fler spelare på klubben än nånsin!

The Pharisees think of other cultures as colors if even that. Honorable peoples have respect for their enemies too, but we have to treat the enemy as they treat us, and never ever fall into their trap of calling them "Nazis" or using the horrible words "white" or "black". Actually "Negro" (that does mean "black", but in Spanish) is more polite and correct in English language, as it isn't confusing them with totally different black skinned people from India, South East Asia and Australia.

African Negros are more genetically diverse than any other humans, but the English term Negro isn't wrong and it should not be insulting.
