Just started watching the video and said "Jackdaws!" and then you added in a bit saying the same thing. We pronounce it Jack-doors (as in the thing you open and close to enter rooms) ;)

My mother can't pronounce "door" correctly in Swedish. She still say "durr" instead of "dörr".

If you don't know Swedish, you are safe to say "ö" (like in "her") in any way you want, because we say that Ö sound differently everywhere in Sweden. But the U and Y sounds - Either you do them right or wrong. My mother does U perfectly, but uses it also for short Ö-sounds and that messed up my early spelling.
